When you attempt to obtain a license, you must be able to drive.
Otherwise, you won't pass the most important part of the test...driving the car.
This is the part where a Rep from the office hops in the car with you and prays silently that you can actually drive.

However, that's not all you have to pass.
You have to pass a written test as well.
And last, but not least manuverability.

Ah, manuverability...
This is where you have to drive around and thru orange cones.
You cannot hit, bump or run over the orange cones.
There is usually four of them and they're organized in a parking spot like fashion.
Again, you must pull in and pull out of the orange cones. Forward and backward.

A lot of times, I feel like life is a bunch of orange cones.
You can't touch, hurt, or run through these "orange cones."
You can't avoid them, because you fail if you don't complete this part of your test.

Saying that you want to take this part of the test later, will push you back from driving about two weeks minimum. Saying that you can do it and haven't practiced on it, will guarantee fail...especially if you don't know how to use your mirrors. (Another good metaphor.) Still, if you want to pass...you must practice.

Some things in life aren't going to be familiar to you as soon as you encounter them. But, that doesn't mean that you can ignore them. Generally, if you try to avoid something it will only come back later. Sometimes it comes back worse than it was the first time. Still, you must learn to deal, overcome and conquer these obstacles and encounters. Still, practice makes perfect.
